When I was in Crested Butte, CO in July I learned that 100 volunteers in the town had constructed a mountain bike trail in one day. I wondered what our students and faculty could accomplish in one Saturday morning Work Gang. Well, the seniors planted 25 apple trees, blueberry bushes, and pear trees and the rest of the school constructed a beautiful hiking, snowshoeing and mountain biking trailin the woods going up to the top of the new ski area this past Saturday. I was impressed with how hard everyone worked and how much fun everyone had. The next day the NY Times came out with an interesting article on the importance of developing "grit" in young people. Grit, or what we call "Moxie" here at Dublin, could be found everywhere on campus on Saturday.
