Michael Light ’81 has new Art Book “Lake Las Vegas / Black Mountain”

Michael Light '81 and his publisher, Radius Books,  recently hosted a party celebrating the publication of his latest photography/art book, “Lake Las Vegas/Black Mountain.”  This is the third installment of Michael's aerial survey of the over-inhabited West. Until 2008, Las Vegas was the fastest growing state in America, but when the Recession hit, America's most fevered residential dream went bankrupt. In this latest coffee-table size book, Michael's camera (all his photography is taken from his airplane) hovers over topography where a quarter of a billion dollars was spent on dirt that has laid dormant for the past six years.  In addition to Michael's incredible photography, the book contains essays by two celebrated landscape experts, Rebecca Solnit and Lucy Lippard.
