Happy Holidays with an Hour of Code

Forty students participated in the “Hour of Code” challenge, supported by Khan Academy. We learned the basics of coding through drawing a Christmas Card.  We started by learning code to form and move rectangles around, then progressed to ellipses, dots, triangles, lines, adding color, and text.

The students all found it extremely engaging, and most chose to spend more than an hour as they perfected their Christmas cards.

Here are a few examples of student work! Click on this pictures to see more of their code. When you get there, try making your own card!
